Synopsis:
On A First Name Basis tells the story of a successful novelist, David Kilbride, who one day realizes that he knows absolutely nothing about his long-time housekeeper of 28 years, Lucy Hopperstaad. She, on the other hand, knows absolutely everything about him!  As Lucy is getting ready to end her shift, David invites her to stay and have a drink.  But as the night sets in and the drinks start to flow, secrets reveal themselves, for better or worse.

Cast of Characters:
David Kilbride: 62-year-old wealthy novelist who writes spy thrillers but is currently experiencing writer’s block.  A thrice-divorced intellectual who loves language and can easily be distracted by an unusual phrase.

Lucy Hopperstaad: 54-year-old housekeeper (but not a live-in housekeeper) to Mr. Kilbride. Forthright, direct, comes more from the school of hard knocks. Her role has been to manage David’s home so that he is able to write his novels without distractions.
