Please arrive at least 15 minutes early to fill out your audition card – onstage readings will commence at 1:00pm sharp.

Backstage Orientation:
Simultaneously with the audition, A BACKSTAGE ORIENTATION and tour of the theatre will be offered by a member of the Volunteer Committee for anyone interested in working behind the scenes on any future production. Descriptions of each of the various Volunteer Positions can be found in the Volunteer section of this website.
Synopsis:
Barry has reluctantly agreed to move into the seniors’ home where his daughter works so she can keep an eye on him. He is just beginning to adapt to the quiet life when along comes the loquacious and flirtatious Jonas. Still living high on the revenues of his one hit song from 37 years ago, Jonas sees the curmudgeonly Barry as a fixer-upper.
Character Descriptions:
He has just moved into the retirement home where his daughter works. He loves her but feels smothered. He comes across as a curmudgeon, but he is somewhat depressed and nursing a few regrets about his life.
A retired performer, he has just moved into the retirement home. He is flirtatious and a womanizer who wants to live life to the fullest. He is concerned about Barry’s attitude and takes him on as a special project. Jonas has his own secrets about his past.
Barry’s daughter and an administrator at the retirement home. She is very over-protective of her father and worried about him aging alone. She is also grappling with her own marital issues and she is trying to keep these from her father.
