Christmas Pantomime
Hugh Parker, an ex-RAF officer, had 20 years experience in theatre, film, and radio in London (BBC and CBC) as a writer of thrillers and operetta, actor and director, and broadcaster who covered D-Day from a RAF mobile unit. He was living in Ottawa when he wrote and directed this pantomime for the Ottawa Drama League.
A note from the ODL President J.P. Kenney said this was the first traditional pantomime the theatre had been able to present since before the war years when the theatre had been rented some of the time as a movie theatre. "Those years are happily past, and this Christmas we are able to face the future with a beautifully redecorated theatre, a record membership and a freedom from motion picture commitments.
