First Prize-winner of 79th National One-Act Playwriting Competition; EODL 2022 One-Act Play Festival entry
"Last Rites", written by OLT actor and playwright Guy Newsham, won the top prize at the OLT's National Playwriting Competition held in 2020 during the Covid pandemic.
"Last Rites" was subsequently produced as the OLT's entry into the 2022 EODL (Eastern Ontario Drama League) One-Act Play Festival. It was performed on Nov. 5 in Lindsay, ON, at the festival which was hosted by Creative Force Theatre from Nov. 4-6, 2022. "Last Rites" won awards for Best Director (Ian Gillies) and Best Actor, Drama (Stavros Sakiadis).
