Bud Mitchell fell in love at first sight with his boss’s wife 25 years ago and has carried a torch for her ever since. Perhaps her husband’s funeral isn’t the most sensible time for Bud to kindle romance, but this is a man on a mission!  An insightful and hilarious look at broken hearts and second chances by one of OLT’s favourite playwrights.

4 actors: 2 men 2 women playing various roles

Bud 60’s – affable, likeable, natural insecurities but tenacious – play contains series of flashbacks to younger days and a younger Bud

Molly   60’s acerbic, sharp witted, cynical but with her own charm – moments of vulnerability but heavily guarded – play depicts younger and present day Molly

Arthur Sr and Arthur Jr – 40’s – Sr a cad, Jr a sweet guy

Kitty, Kendra, Shirley, Sandra, Delores, Claire – 40’s – characters range from 20 something to 50 something

We will be doing selected readings from the script for the audition – attached are a sampling to give a sense of the play and characters. In addition to these we may use some cold readings from the script.
