Position:                     Box Office Customer Service Representative
Type:                           Part-time (days, evenings and weekends), permanent
Start Date:                  July 10, 2017
Rate of Pay:                $11.50 per hour

SUMMARY

OLT box office staff is driven by excellent customer service to both internal and external customers. Staff is responsible for online and in-person ticket sales, subscription sales, visual art sales, workshop/class/camp registrations and database management. They work primarily with database software (Theatre Manager) but also with online applications and Word Office suite of programs (Word, Excel).

This position reports to the Box Office Manager (daytime) / Front of House Manager (evenings/weekends) and takes direction from the Director of Marketing & Fundraising, when applicable.

 

GENERAL DUTIES

  • Provide the primary reception for the theatre, welcome patrons and visitors and provide information to the public on a variety of theatre programs
  • Process cash, credit and debit card payments by phone, via the internet, and in person
  • Reconcile and report sales and payments (daily)
  • Maintain a clean, orderly and welcoming workspace
  • Adhere to OLT policies and guidelines and assist the Box Office Manager in achieving the goals and objectives of OLT
  • Accept and log costume and props rental returns/donations

 

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Exemplary customer service, verbal and communication skills
  • Proficiency with database and/or automated ticketing systems (Experience with Theatre Manager is an asset); proficiency with IT/computer systems
  • Cash handling and payment processing procedures
  • Capacity to prioritize, delegate and adapt to changing demands
  • Ability to work flexible hours based on business needs
  • Experience working within a box office (theatre) environment is an asset
  • Self-motivated team player with an ability to work independently and as a member of a larger team
  • Ability to pick up new computer programs easily
  • Language – professional English (sales proficiency), French is an asset
  • Daytime availability is a priority for this position
